- Synchronize tutoring with your curriculum in a few clicks.
Simply send words to students for targeted practice.
- Don't waste precious classroom time on vocabulary practice.
LearnThatWord tutors each student via personalized sessions and ensures long-term retention.
- Pay ONLY for measured learning results!
LearnThatWord assures that your investment produces 100% results. It's part of our design:
Only if a student learns a word they struggled with is a learning credit deducted!
- Accounts for students and teachers are free!
We even give registered schools (10 or more students) 100 free learning credits to get started.
Did we already mention that learning credits are very affordable?
- Could a learning stampede endanger your budget?
No, because credits are capped at 200 x number of students.
Once these credits are used, your students study free for the rest of the year!
So, let's work together towards that "learning stampede"... what a wonderful vision!
- LearnThatWord is a nonprofit program. We provide free coaching to third grade students in the U.S. and Canada and are looking forward to extending our literacy campaigns. Our creative support team can work with districts, consortiums and departments to secure outside funding.

In addition, make sure you have reviewed LearnThatWord's unique fund raising program.
It's easy, rewarding, and a real alternative for schools who can't sponsor their students right now.
Students from low-income backgrounds often enter school with a vocabulary less than one third the size of their more privileged peers! LearnThatWord provides targeted and differentiated remediation to help teachers and students close that gap. Your Title I third graders may also qualify for scholarships from LearnThatWord's Scholarship Pledge.
Today’s ELL students need to learn how to communicate and build knowledge in English quickly. Vocabulary and verbal confidence are the building blocks of ELL success.
LearnThatWord offers a unique mix of self-directed learning and rewards based on both team-based and individualized effort. This make it an ideal enrichment for any afterschool program. Students can use LearnThatWord to study words that have been introduced during class or expand their vocabulary at their own pace. The students’ after school activities are tied to the regular school day in a meaningful and effective way. Accomplishments are clearly documented in the performance reports.
LearnThatWord supports educators working with special needs children by providing engaging, effective, and individualized instruction and practice. Detailed progress management ensures that every student gets exactly the amount of practice they need to successfully commit words to long-term memory—no more, no less.
LearnThatWord is a top-performing software to enhance education. Response to Intervention (RTI) is easily visible to teachers throughout the year and clearly documented through detailed reporting.
RTI is not an add-on feature at LearnThatWord: It's at the heart of what we do. The program is designed to provide individualized follow-up until any learning gaps are successfully closed.
Schools have also successfully applied funds from Title II-A (Teacher Quality/Professional Development), Title IV (21 Century Schools) and Title V (Promoting Informed Parental Choice and Innovative Programs).
Don't miss your opportunity to enroll your third graders for free tutoring through Vocabulary Junction, sponsored by Google.
Orthography is a hallmark of a good education, and people with low spelling skills are stigmatized. Spelling carries significant weight in
- No-Child-Left-Behind (NCLB) tests,
- SAT's handwritten essays,
- English composition requirements in college,
- a myriad of everyday situations.
Words are the building blocks of literacy. Reading, writing and spelling are related processes.
When vocabulary skill and confidence are low, student's academic progress is in danger.

Our program is included in the Department of Education's Educational Resource Organizations Directory (EROD) and listed as a compliant resource by the California Learning Resource Network (CLRN). The organization was initiated by the CA Department of Education and is referenced nationwide by schools looking for appropriate and standards based online instruction.
CLRN provides educators with a "one-stop" resource to help with the selection of supplemental electronic learning resources aligned to the State Board of Education's academic content standards.
California educators with specific content experience are selected through an application process to act as reviewers once they have completed a rigorous training program.
The review process utilizes the State Board of Education approved review criteria which covers three areas: Legal Compliance, Standards Alignment & Minimum Requirements.
