I think this and the story from a few months ago where the girl hit the bicycler that the police checkpoints to stop drunk driving really do nothing to prevent this crime. it's good p.r., but does very little other than maybe stopping people THAT night, but unless they do it every day ... it's pointless. i've also said for years and years that we should have those pop-up spike strips on EVERY highway on-ramp in las vegas. there's just too many drunks, old people, and tourists that don't know where they are going. oh, what? it's too expensive? tell that to the family and friends of this poor girl. one of our "we care about las vegas" casinos could EASILY pay for a few of these around town.
