I've decided I'm going to do small puzzles (fabric on pelmet vilene) inside a clear pocket, which will fasten somehow (I'm actually thinking something basic like a piece of sellotape) in the post. From Wordnik.com. [P is for Prototype/JQP week 21] Reference
I might try a variation on it not using two layers of pelmet vilene, but just fabric for the shutters on the window - and turn the orientation the other way, so you get more spring when you open the window. From Wordnik.com. [Some trials, some post] Reference

I decided to use pelmet vilene/stiff interfacing between the pages rather than batting, so that the pages will "turn" better, and anyway, I am not quilting through the pages - it would take too much planning to get quilting that would work on both sides!. And here's the fibre landscape, finished now (last night) except the finishing, so to speak - I am not quite sure how I am going to edge it, but I think the first order of business is another layer of pelmet vilene for stability, and then perhaps a nice fabric back (fused on) to be pretty. From Wordnik.com. [Little wings, beaded seas] Reference
This piece is for the sheers swap with my surface embellishment group - I took a piece of pelmet vilene (stiff interfacing) laid on a piece of hand-dyed fabric (parfait style) and covered with sheer fabric, then I stitched all over it more or less randomly in big swoopy lines which cross and re-cross one another. From Wordnik.com. [Blue] Reference
Also had to pick up some more pelmet vilene, so ended up in my local haberdashery/craft department, but bought very little besides the pelmet vilene and these two stamps - both for specific projects (though the one on the right has to do with Christmas cards, so you won't get to see what I'm planning to do just yet). Right, so, Lizzie recently left a comment asking about what stiffening I used in the boxes I did before Christmas - I can't respond directly Lizzie, as no email or blog shows in your profile, so hopefully you'll read this and find your answer - I used what is here called pelmet or craft vilene - I think it's fairly similar to Timtex, so if you are in the US, you can use that or something like it. So I decided I'd at least get the fans fused on to the background fabric - I decided to use gold metallic thread to quilt the cards and finish the edges, but unfortunately, I only had a little bit left on the reel, so I had to go out and buy more - got some more pelmet vilene at the same time - I go through that stuff pretty fast these days, with all the postcards and fabric book pages and whatnot.
